Ergobaby builds a global community of confident parents with innovative and ergonomic baby products that encourage closeness.
Twenty years ago, a mother living on the island of Maui was not satisfied with the available options for carrying her baby. In search of a way to keep her newborn son close to her body, she tried several types of carrying systems but found nothing that met her needs for comfort and balance. She was deeply inspired by indigenous babywearing practices and the Continuum Concept—the idea that, from birth, we must be treated with great care to achieve optimal well-being in our future lives.
Starting from this premise and with a background in design, she decided to create something beneficial for her baby, yet comfortable and easy for parents to use. Inspired by the traditional Mei Tai, the first Ergobaby baby carrier was born.
With that modest creation, Karin Frost revolutionized the way we carry babies. Her soft-structured carrier became the gold standard of babywearing.
Ergobaby was founded with the belief that there is magic in every small triumph of parenthood, even in the less pleasant aspects of raising your little one. Through award-winning baby carriers, strollers, and more, Ergobaby is committed to providing parents with the foundation to thrive with products designed for comfort and ease.
With carrier styles for every family, Ergobaby has become the most recommended manufacturer of babywearing systems, carrying millions of babies around the world. These carriers are available to support families through two types of babywearing journeys: All-in-One (with Omni Breeze, Omni Dream, or Aerloom) and Ages and Stages (with Embrace, Aura Wrap, 360, and Hip Seat). Ergobaby carriers give parents the freedom to enjoy life's big and small adventures while keeping their little ones close. Designed ergonomically to support both the baby's body development and the caregiver carrying them, with ultimate comfort and ergonomics, Ergobaby carriers are essential for every parent’s journey, from birth to toddlerhood.
